Fashion Tips for Overweight Women

If you are overweight it does not mean that you cannot look fashionable. All you have to do is to choose clothes as well as accessories that fit your body. It would be wrong if you seek inspiration from skinny models. It is vital to remember that you should dress in a way that highlights your features and makes you look good. At the same time you should also wear clothes that make you look fashionable. This article will throw light on the fashion tips that are followed by young women who are overweight.

Choose right clothes

You should not buy dresses that are small in size and that appear too tight for your body. It is wrong to think that if you put on tiny clothes you may look slimmer but it appears to be heavier. On the other hand, you should not buy ones that seems to be too loose and baggy. The best tip is to choose Korean fashion clothes that fit your size. Those who are heavy and tall should go for trousers and buy tops that have sleeves.

Go for dark colored dresses

Wearing dark colored clothes is one of the best options for hiding your heavy weight. According to the experts bright and light colored dresses highlight the heavy parts of your body. On the contrary, the clothes with dark colors subdue those parts. Keeping this point in mind, many Korean style clothing manufacturers develop dark colored clothing products so that your heavy parts appear to be smaller.

Do not buy clothes that have intricate designs

You should not also wear dresses that are full of buttons, pleats and pockets. If your back looks heavy then it is advisable that you should not purchase jeans that have intricate embroidery or have anything that highlight the back pockets. Plus, if the upper portions of your hands are heavy, then you should avoid buying tops with short sleeves.

Wear V neck blouses

Many Korean fashion stores sell V neck blouses for overweight women. This type of blouse helps you to appear longer and thinner in size. If you want you can also wear tops with deep necks.

Choose long tops

If you have huge belly that you want to hide then it is advisable that you should put on long tops. This type of top makes you look thinner.

Buy high waists as well as low waists

Another fashion tip for overweight woman is to take advantage of both high as well as waist clothes. If you wear a dress that has slim waistline and high waist, then you would be able to accentuate curves in best possible way. If you wish you can also purchase a nice belt. However if you wish to purchase trousers then you must prefer low waist ones. A low waist pant will help you to cover up your belly like never before.

Choose appropriate accessories

Many Korean fashion stores sell appropriate accessories and jewelries for women including overweight ones. It is important that you should use accessories that fit your weight, bone structure and that make you appear slimmer. An overweight woman should also prefer heavy accessories such as thicker heels, heavy bags and so on.

Choose Designer Tips For Fashion Styling

When people find out that I’m a fashion designer, aside from the cliche assumption that I design and make my clothes (which I don’t!), they usually presume that I have a particular clothing style and that I spend a lot of money when I shop for clothes. In reality, neither of these misconceptions is true. I don’t have a defined fashion style. The way I dress depends greatly on occasion, location, season, current trends, time of the day, and my mood. Many times, I’ll actually use fashion styling to get myself in a certain mood. When I’m asked for styling advice, I’ll reply with “How do you want to feel?” I think fashion and styling posses a power that can make you feel a certain way. In this article, I’ll share a few “Designer Tips” on fashion styling. I’ll start with some very important fashion advice- how to shop for clothes.

Since my outfits usually turn a few heads, people assume they are really expensive- yet another false impression. Not to say that I won’t occasionally splurge on something expensive; I just appreciate a good bargain when I see one. The only time I’ll overpay for an item is when I LOVE it and I know I won’t be able to find it anywhere else. Like the Diesel jacket I bought for $165. It was exactly what I was looking for and I knew that no one else would make something even remotely similar. Casual, but chic; sporty, but girly – I knew it would last for a few seasons. That’s actually one of my fashion shopping rules: if I pay more than $150 for something, it has to last for a few seasons. If I’m shopping for something very trendy that will probably be “in” for only one season, I won’t spend more than $100, better yet, no more than $50.

So how do I manage to look expensive? Designer tip number one is good fit. If something doesn’t fit right, no matter how cheap it is – I won’t buy it. Why would I wear something that pulls and gathers in the wrong places and looks awkward on me? It doesn’t matter how much salespeople try to “help”, and say it’s not noticeable. I notice, and others will too. They might not be able to pinpoint exactly what bothers them, but they’ll notice something’s off. The same concept goes for details and accents – many people think they don’t notice little details, but they do. Some details may not stand out on their own, but they definitely contribute to overall appearance.

Once I went on a blind date wearing a plain black jersey skirt slightly below the knee that I bought for $20. I paired it with a black tank that had a touch of lace ($15), and killer looking shoes. They were pointy high heels in faded metallic pink, which created a vintage look ($55, a lucky bargain buy!). Two men accused me of trying to cause a traffic accident as I crossed the street! Men and (more remarkably) women were turning their heads. Needless to say, my blind date was more then relieved! His first remark to me was that he “loved stylish women”. Bottom line: my outfit was totally chic- and all under $100.

Another shopping tip: to make an ordinary outfit look chic, I’ll throw in something expensive, such as an accessory. I went to a party wearing a black jersey dress with bishop sleeves ($25), and accented it with a hip shaped beaded belt I bought in London for almost $250. I know it sounds overpriced, but that belt breathed new life into a lot of older outdated garments that I loved dearly. I had this gorgeous chiffon dress that I bought 7 years ago. I loved the mysterious color effect created by layers of different color fabrics and the way the skirt flared. Even after the silhouette went out of style, I couldn’t bear to part with that dress! By adding my beaded belt, I successfully reshaped the dress creating a low waist retro kind of look, and wore it to my best friend’s wedding- with complements!

The truth is that I love fashion, and I love women. It makes me happy when I can make a difference in their often complicated, yet extraordinary lives. Ladies, keep in mind when it comes to fashion, nothing is written in stone. What is a fashion disaster today may be on the runway tomorrow, and vice versa.

The teenage period is a very important phase in one’s life. This is the time when any teen is most conscious about his/her looks and often worries about blending with various groups of people. Some native jewelry made of shells or coco beads can also gel well with any outfit.

Sunglasses can never go out of fashion and besides they do the prime function of protecting your eyes from the glare outside. Go in for those huge styles sported by J.LO. These are totally cool and a very haute item. You can look for some unusual tints and shades like a hint of pink or glares in cool blue. A style tip – white frames are very much in vogue.

Fashionable Necklaces:
A simple white top can be enhanced with a chunky necklace. Chokers look great for V-necked tops or off-shoulder tops whereas long chains go best with plain attire. These long necklaces look fabulous when teamed with long skirts. One can never have enough of necklaces, so the moment you spot a good design; make sure you grab the same.

Tattoos are a great way to express your individual style statement. Although these have been around for years, they have always been a favorite with many teens and adults alike. Going to a professional may not be seen as ‘affordable’ for every teenager, but local stores have stick-on tattoos that you can wear to suit your every mood. They even have loads of glitter and shimmer and come in a variety of designs. If the stick-on varieties are still not your type, you can even ask an artist friend to paint one on you.

Your bag can also say a lot about you. A stylish messenger bag will look cool and can hold all your required college gear. You would be surprised to see these youngsters spend a lot of time decking up, but their bags are a giveaway of their true self. So, get that snazzy bag that suits you. A large belt can look good when worn with a simple white long tunic. The shimmer kinds can be left for the girl’s night out. Bling accessories have always been the first choice for many, celebrities such as P. Diddy and 50 Cents are known for their fashionable accessories. This look may be flashy but can suit a teenager very well.

The list of accessories for these youngsters can be never-ending. The fun part about being a teen is getting to wear all the wacky and the hippest things without really worrying about other issues. So, go ahead and experiment, and make the most of your teenage days.

Fashion Tips for Men Over 40

As we age, we lose interest in most of the things that we found amusing in our youthful days! However, this should not be case with fashion.

FASHION

We all know that how we dress affects a great deal the image we present to the world! Therefore, even as our hair starts greying, this is not a sign that we ignore our wardrobes! Men in particular have been culprits of this. Once they hit 40, everything becomes boring! And as though the midlife crisis is not enough, their sense of fashion practically goes down the drain! However, fashion has been made so diverse such that even at this age, there is a lot a man can wear that will maintain his sense of style and still make him appropriate for the age. For the men who still try to remain stylish, their efforts are usually thwarted by the numerous ideas that they get from different people on what is appropriate for that age bracket. However, fashion should be really a personal thing; where you choose to wear only that which you consider fashionable! With the following guidelines, you can remain a charmer even as you hit that dreaded age: 40!

CHANGE

As uncomfortable as change may be, it is always advisable that you change according to the seasons! In this case, both your hair color and skin color are changing! The best thing you can do is change your clothes in this regard! Invest in new clothing that will be perfect with the change in color body, in terms of color. Moreover, avoid wearing the old clothes as these will make you look old and outdated! While investing in the new clothing, avoid wearing clothes that have loud colors! These will send the message that you are struggling to hold on to your youthful years! Rather go for the more diverse range of colors that will present the image of a respectable man. Preferably, most of what you wear should be in solid simple colors. It is important to remember that as you age, your features deteriorate! Therefore, picking the right colors will ensure that you do not get a sick look.

FIT AND STYLE

No matter the age bracket that you fall under, wearing the right fit of clothes is always important! All the clothes you wear should fit as perfectly as they possibly can! At 40, avoid wearing clothes that are too baggy or even too tight! At this age also, it is advisable that you wear something classic, one that can stand the test of time rather than the overly trendy pieces of the youth! If you are an office going man, keep your style at par with your age! Your shirt and tie should always be perfect together! Age should never be an excuse for being shabbily dressed with poor color coordination. The best tip that you need to have at this crucial age is to learn when to transition, and how to do this. For instance, at 40, the sports coat makes for a great transition item. Choose this in a style and color that represents your personality and flatters your changing body features. Age gracefully and fashionably!

Keep Things Ready
Keep the things you will need to carry with you to school ready. Keep your books, pencil box, wallet, etc., ready and arrange them in your bag. Do it a day before, to save yourself from the last minute jitters.

Accessorize
You can wear small jewelry pieces like earrings, bracelet and a neck-piece. They cannot be big as they do not fit in with the uniform-look.

Smelling good is very important. Keep a deodorant in your bag all the time. You will need it after the mid-day and also after playing a sport or dancing.

Confidence is the Key
Dress-up well, smell nice and apply make up but eventually looking good finally lies in confidently carrying yourself. Being confident is a mental state. Keep your goals set and feel the start of a fresh day at school, happily. Be yourself and love it.

The first of school is a very special day. It is obvious that you want to look good and cast the right impression on others. But looking good does not only refer to the exterior look; it also refers to what you are from within. I am not trying to be spiritual here, but what I am trying to say is that, whatever you are in the inside will show up on your exterior as well. For example, a girl who looks very good but cannot speak properly or her body language is clumsy; her exterior look will no longer be attractive. So to really look good you need dress up well, feel happy, stay fit and confident.

It’s your first day at school, so talk to everyone, ask them about their holidays and join a group or a club with your common interest. Make your school life full of fun, frolic and learning. Enjoy!
